Brunch & Babies: How “Help” Sometimes Looks Different
Becoming a parent, I knew my life would change, but I also knew it was important to try to incorporate him into some of the things I enjoy doing. So…Baby Does Brunch.
People are busy - friends & family want to help but no one else’s life stops just because I had a baby. This isn’t to say that my friends and family haven’t been helpful. They have. When people ask me “How are you doing all of this by yourself?”, I’m quick to praise my army that keeps me and Poppy alive. But it’s not like you can expect someone to come feed the baby at 2am.
It was during this brunch that I realized sometimes “help” looks like a friend making breakfast for you, buying your kid books because they saw them and thought of him, holding the baby so you can eat. It’s the seemingly little things that make a big difference.
I’m so grateful for how much my friends have accepted Poppy.
