Number 1 Tip For New Mamas (That No One Said To Me)

People will recommend you pack chapstick in your hospital bag, put a glider in the nursery, and tell you to put a whole ass crib on your registry.

Moms will share their favorite spray bottle for your postpartum care, tell you how hard breastfeeding is, and tell you that you really don’t need that much stuff in your diaper bag.

BUT the one thing I’m so glad I’ve done that I would recommend to every new mama:

Take pictures with your baby.

I’m not confident in front of the camera, I don’t even have full-length mirrors in my house. My hair is never done and my shirts are usually stained.

As I took more pictures with him, eventually -

  1. I found angles I liked

  2. I started feeling less self-conscious about how the things I’m most insecure about would show up on camera

  3. I became less focused on getting the perfect picture and more focused on capturing the moment

Here’s how I capture moments with my son.
